Old Man Crawf a character created with prosthetic makeup by Sharp FX is getting his own special show.
The AFL Footy Show presents – Old Man Crawf is a one hour special showing more crazy pranks and a look behind the scenes at the creation of Old Man Crawf. Airing on Channel 9 across Australia on Sunday night 4th October.
Sharp FX created the prosthetic makeup on Shane Crawford. Old Man Crawf aka ‘Walter’ an 87yr old man was created for a series of live action pranks played on unsuspecting AFL players. This was a more challenging job than usual because The prosthetic needed to look realistic both on camera and face to face in live interaction, the prosthetic also needed to last long periods of time without touch ups. The Old Man Crawf prosthetic makeup was applied on five separate occasions, the first trial was back in 2013 with the rest took place in 2015. The first makeup application took 4 hours each application was slightly faster with the final application taking only 3 hours to apply.
